‘Ik wil een dinokamer!’ Mijn zoontje wist het zeker. Iets anders kwam er niet in. En hij is niet de enige. Dino’s hebben iets magisch voor kinderen. Maar wat als je online, in winkels en in bladen op zoek gaat naar prehistorische inspiratie voor de kinderkamer? Dan is het al snel teveel ‘koetiekoetie’ en te weinig ‘wraowww’. Of de dino’s zijn te realistisch en bijna griezelig.
Dan maar geen dinokamer? Daar kun je natuurlijk niet mee aankomen. Zeker niet als je zoontje, zoals bij ons thuis, alle namen van de dino’s kent. Dus wat doe je dan als illustrator? Je gaat zelf aan de slag.

My Story
Hi I'm Neeltje, After 15 years as a creative in the advertising world, I turned everything around and threw myself into my dream: to bring more fun and adventure to the world as an illustrator. My creations are made with paper, which I paint and then edit on the computer. I use these illustrations to create unique and original wall stickers, wallpaper, cards and gifts. On top of that I illustrate for children's books.
Nature plays a big part in my illustrations. So naturally, I work with respect for everything that grows and blooms, by recycling and upcycling as much as possible: making things beautiful that would otherwise be thrown away, such as the tissue paper from a shoebox, plates and tiles. OrigiNeeltje illustrations tell stories in which you always discover something new.
And the best part is: they invite young and old to look beyond your own environment. To fantasize, go into nature and discover what there is to discover. Curious?
